Laura and Kunal came to us with quite a unique wedding opportunity. The goal was to design something special for two separate wedding celebrations and marry the two looks together in one invitation. Friday would be an Indian ceremony and celebration with lots of color, florals and heritage at Dulany's Overlook in Frederick Maryland. Saturday would be their marriage ceremony at Citizens Ballroom in downtown Frederick - playing on the old bank's architecture, neutrals and black and whites.
Friday: vibrant, rich, formal but not busy
Saturday: modern but not too modern, classic
PALETTE:
Friday: lots of colors, greens
Saturday: neutral black and white palette with greens
GOALS:
formal but not busy, merry the two inspirations together
When looking for magazine pages, we were trying to find images that used color but with a little less focus / more of a blur. The goal was to focus on the greens and whites keeping it mostly neutral in a sense. The dark contrast and "black" would come from a darker green and almost shadow from the color elements. We wanted to keep the majority of the invitations modern, white and green. We wanted to use one of the pieces as the "surprise" pop of color that would still allow for a lot of white space on the page.
