Tips for Holiday Mailing

Mailing
Holiday

The holiday season is upon us and its that time of year for everyone to mail out your Christmas and New Years cards, along with several packages and maybe a few returns. We have a few tips and things to think about during this time to help simplify your process and avoid delays of the things that matter. The Post Office mails 15 billion pieces of mail including 800 million packages between Thanksgiving and New Years Day - for this reason alone you have a higher chance of your important items getting lost. Unless your Save the Date or your Thank You cards serve as your holiday card as well - AVOID mailing until after the New Year. You don't want your loved ones to lose your wedding invitations, baby shower or bridal shower invitations or forget about them in the flux of the holiday mail.

Stamps have gone up in price and are now .66 cents to mail a traditional envelope. Don't be tempted to order bulk stamps online to save money - the only place you should order is direct through the Post Office.

To save money on stamps mail a postcard instead since they only cost .51. We wanted to gift you something to make this easier. Download it, print it and write a short note or use it as a gift tag.

If you love traditional envelopes, to save some time we recommend compiling all your addresses in a digital spreadsheet to make it easy to upload and save. You can export the file and get these addresses printed to save time as well.

Finally, when it comes to sealing them - we suggest skipping the licking and buy a glue stick. Just apply the stick to anywhere you would use your tongue. Save your taste buds fro some holiday treats.
