It was evident from Rachel’s story that she had a sense of humor, and honestly that really spoke to us. She started by telling they met and the origin of their story was a tale as old a time - in a very 2021 turn of events, a bad reaction to the Covid vaccine almost prevented them from even meeting in person, but they eventually met up at Butcher Bar on Chestnut Street in Philadelphia. “John was immediately so taken with Rachel's intellect, beauty, above-average athletic skills, etc. that he couldn't help but to propose on the spot.” When we read that we were like whaaaaatt !?!?! But she followed it up with a “Just Kidding.” They had our attention.
Many date nights, weekend trips, family outings and cozy evenings on the couch later, Rachel and John got engaged in March of 2023. They were obsessed with the Free Library as a site for their wedding and are drawn to the old, glamorous architecture of the space. They are looking to have a very elegant, warm and relaxed wedding surrounded by their favorite people. They want to create special and thoughtful moments and knew this library as the backdrop had all they needed.
The vast interior, the architecture, the staircase, the books - it is all a unique focal point for their ceremony. The rooftop terrance will set the space for their outdoor reception with the Philadelphia skyline surrounding their guests. There will be string lights across the dance floor to help light up the night sky.
